Whoops! UCSD Sends Acceptance Letters to those denied!
Wednesday, April 1st, 2009
Have you ever had one of those days where you hit reply to all instead of just reply, or said something in accurate to someone to have it come back and bite you in the butt? Well, whatever you did or said was nothing compared to what UC San Diego did on monday.
Apparently, UCSD had already sent out their acceptance letters earlier in the month to about 15,000 students, when an email blunder happend. Monday afternoon, a mistake email was sent out to EVERY applicant of the 2009 freshman class. This email was a Welcome to Campus email which was received by over 29,000 students who were not accepted to the school.
Now if you ask me, this is a major mistake. Think about how these kids who were denied felt when they checked their email and had received a welcome to campus email from UCSD? About 2 and a half hours afer the debacle the faculty sent an appology email and denied these 29,000 students again. Talk about a bad day, getting accepted and denied within 3 hours by the same school, talk about demoralizing!
