untold mouse shortcuts for opera
Thursday, March 19th, 2009My favorite browser is Opera. Its fast and secure than any other browser. Its having a good appearance among the available browsers today. Today, i will share a few mouse shortcuts that i use in Opera.
| SHORTCUTS | FUNCTION |
| Middle mouse button click on a link | Open in background tab. |
| Middle mouse button on tab | Close tab |
| Middle mouse button in the Tab bar | Open new tab |
| Ctrl + Left click on images |
Save image as |
| Ctrl + Scroll up | zoom in |
| Ctrl + Scroll Down | Zoom out |
| Ctrl+ Middle mouse button | Zoom to 100% (normal) |
| Shift + Scroll | Browse through visited pages in history |
UPDATE:
In Opera we can browse through the opened tabs with a simple mouse shortcut. For this you have to press and hold the right mouse button and then scroll.
Voila!! we now have all tabs arranged in the screen and we can quickly and easily switch from one tab to another. This feature is not available in any other browser. (correct me if i am wrong)
The most common shortcut (right click option) i use in Opera is "Paste and Go", when we copy a link or text and paste it in addressbar, we have this option in the right click. So we don't need to hit enter to visit the site. It saves time.
If you don't know this, Opera also allows us to add our own shortcuts. So we can easily define any shortcut using this feature. Just go to
TOOLS ->PREFERENCES ->ADVANCED ->SHORTCUTS (from left menu)

heyy mate! nice little article u got here. but aren’t the first three short-cuts browser specific? the third one doesnt work in google chrome.
@BoxieBlue: All these work on opera. I haven’t checked it on any other browser. Mozilla has taken a lot of features from opera. So most of the above ones will work in mozilla Firefox.
I have updated the blog with a new shortcut, tha works only in opera. It allows us to switch between the opened tabs.
ok. thanks for the tips
i am a Chrome fan, though….
Thanks a lot mate. I was looking for these shortcuts, I knew a few of them but most of them are new to me. cheers
Thanks for the nice sharing.
