We can give a new look to our explorer by changing the toolbar background. I will teach you how to change the toolbar background of the explorer in xp without touching the regedit (there are many who doesn't like to touch registry).

This will be final view of how your toolbar will look like. This one is my current toolbar.

For this you need a small tool name tweakui. Its just 147KB in size. You can download it from softpedia [100% clean software], or you can do a search and download it from anywhere.

After you download that, run it and from the left tree panel, open INTERNET EXPLORER from the list and then choose TOOLBAR BACKGROUND. There it is, you now found options to change explorer's toolbar background and IE's background options. Check the "Use custom background for explorer toolbar" and browse your tool background image. and hit APPLY when you are finished.

Now find a good .bmp images (bitmap images) that you need to use as the background. Make its width as long as the current screen resolution. Like for a resolution of 1024x768, use an image of width 1024px.

Try this and make your toolbar colorful. Give it a customized look and feel.
