HostGator.com

So over the past few months I have been leaning toward pulling the trigger on moving my website over from its old host and needed a new wordpress capible, Linux hosting box. After countless nights of comparing every option on all of the plans spanned across many companies, reality hit me. I needed an AFFORDABLE web hosting company with a reliable up time and a guarantee.
With all of my needs prioritized, I decided to start cutting down my list to see what I could afford and what plan I would need. Then I found it, hostgator.com, plans as low as $7.95 a month with UNLIMITED features. It was love at first sight. I browsed around the site for a while and looked at plans that could fit me, as well as read testimonials and did google stalking on Host Gator. The main selling point that I had with host gator, was the fact that they host over 13 million sites, they must be doing something right.
So two fridays ago, I decided to pull the trigger. I opted to buy the baby plan, the middle option (misleading I know), and started the propogation of my site. After running my credit card I got an email with my new DNS server addresses and I updated my domain name to point there. Within minutes my website was propogating. Litterally I went to dinner with my fiance and came back and it was propogated, talk about service.
Once my site was pulled over, it was time to set up an ftp account, database, etc and that is when I noticed all of the beautiful options built in to the CPanel. While I was setting looking around the CPanel I saw the most beautiful word known in the mind of any web developer, UNLIMITED, and it was everywhere. MySQL domains, sub domains, email addresses, bandwidth, ftp accounts, the list goes on and on, all unlimited. It was like sweet music playing in my ear, amazing, simply amazing. That night I set up email after email, email addresses that I will never use nor want to use, just because I could. I set up sub domain after sub domain, just because I could. It was amazing.
After I was done playing and really had to get down to pulling my site over, everything was a breeze. The mySQL import was flawless, the website transfer was effortless, and the best part of all was the 1 click back up system (website AND database) when I was finished to make sure everything was still in tack. After checking everything and making sure everything was set up perfectly, I have not run into any problems what so ever.
It has now been almost two full weeks and I have not had any downtime on my site, I have had more visitors every day, faster load times, and over all better service. I will never go with another host again (as long as nothing drastic happens to host gator). I highly recommend everyone check out HostGator and sign up for an account, it is the best web hosting service avaliable right now!

Actually I rate HostGator and JaguarPC the two best Linux Hosters I know. I have an account with both for clients and those two are the best two I know. Both have similiar plans – Hostgator just moved to Houston from Florida so their service has gotten better because I think their servers are located in The Planet in Houston (formerly EV1).
nice website but not better than wordpress!!
Hello there,
I haven’t experienced problems with Hostgator either. Their servers are smooth and fast… providing very good hosting for over 1.3 million domains… Of course they got it right! You got it too
Undoubtedly one of the best web hosting companies out there. Great support and hosting plans that don’t leave much to be asked. I really like the way its control panel is arranged (even if it is based on cpanel) and the fact that all the key information about your web hosting account are sent to you by email. This reduces the time that is needed to start uploading your website. I only hope that their plans remain unlimited even if your website uses much disk space and bandwidth. Only under stressing conditions you will find out if a web hosting provider offers truly unlimited resources.
